Years ago I had the good luck to work …

… on the new AIARE curriculum with its principal author, Colin Zacharias. As we edited and wrote, we daydreamed about a week-long, backcountry course — no time pressure, daily tours, ample time to apply new skills and do the “deep dive” into the snowpack. And then it clicked — why not reserve a backcountry lodge in Canada, spend an entire week with students, and see just how deep we could go? The week-long, hut-based AIARE 2 was born. Join us and take the big leap in your avalanche decision-making skills.
